Murari Lamsal is a self-made, self-professed, man of the people. Before he turned to real estate four years ago, Lamsal owned a small supermarket in Surry Hills.
He would often serve real estate agents from the firm next door who would tell him he was a great salesman and should get into the industry. “Selling is the same thing,” he said, “whether you’re selling $5 things or $5 million”.
Lamsal, who made a home in Edmondson Park after arriving from Nepal about 25 years ago, said his edge in the property market was his connection with the Nepalese community.
Much of his business comes from Facebook, where he says he “educates” his community in their own language. “My community help me a lot. They’ve known me a long time,” he said.
“I am the people’s person. I like to talk to the people, work in the community. That’s the thing I like about real estate.”
